BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival: Spotlight on Ann Cleeves

Ann Cleeves is the author of over thirty critically acclaimed novels and the recipient of many crime writing awards. In 2017, she was awarded the CWA Diamond Dagger, the highest accolade in crime writing. Her fictional detectives have inspired internationally popular and long-running TV series – and in 2016 she celebrated publishing 30 books in 30 years. Cleeves has set up reading groups in prisons, is a passionate champion for libraries, has been reader-in-residence for multiple libraries and festivals, and was a National Libraries Day Ambassador in 2016. The first book in her new Two Rivers series set in North Devon is The Long Call, and her latest Vera book The Darkest Evening is published in September 2020.
