Launching my Poetry Masterclass—from 24 August 2020

Today, I’m launching the second running of my online poetry masterclass What the Light Tells. The masterclass runs, via zoom, for six successive weeks—3.5 hours each class—from Monday 24 August. (One stream runs on Monday evenings (AEST), from 24 August; the second on Wednesday mornings (AEST), from 26 August.)

The first offering ran through May and June and attracted poets at every kind of level from around the world—twenty eight of us spread over two classes (Monday evening Sydney time; Wednesday morning Sydney time).

Poet David Terelinck, who attended the May masterclass, had this to say: “So much knowledge was shared over the six sessions—all designed to make us better readers and writers of poetry. Mark will change the way you see, appreciate, and write poetry.”

Each week I throw some light on some great poems; each week I share two or three inspirations and practices; each week I share one of the six gifts of poetry; each week you get to try some new poetic forms; and workshop some poems

Get onboard. Daragh Byrne, part of the first cohort, said this: What a joyful, challenging, insightful, fascinating and productive six weeks! My writing took a leap forward. Highly recommended.
