In three-and-a-half hour classes, conducted via Zoom, once a week over six weeks, I explore the craft of poetry—the techniques, tricks and disciplines that allow poets to animate everyday speech, to throw the light that poetry casts, to divine everyday experience, and to re-enchant daily life and the places where we live it. You’ll come out the other end a better poet, more knowledgable about the choices poets make, more enlightened about this dark art.

I’ve set the times to work for Australian and New Zealand poets as well as those from the Northern Hemisphere and elsewhere in the world. The masterclass is run on zoom, so you can join in, wherever you are. The course to date have attracted poets from Canada, the US, Kyrgysztan, India, Europe, and elsewhere. Though it explores forms and poetics in some depth and invites you to explore new approaches, the course has worked for poets of all levels.
